• Whole School - Parents' Evening - Please read the Parents' Evening letter for Tuesday 20th October and Thursday 22nd October. Bookings via Arbor will open at 11:00am on Monday 5th October and close at midday on Tuesday 20th October. Whole School Letters

• Whole School - Harvest Festival - Please send your voluntary items into school by Thursday 22nd October to be collected outside the classroom and stored before being delivered to both the Basingstoke Foodbank and Spotlight UK.   • Shopping List for both sites: •Deodorants, toiletries and feminine hygiene products •Toothbrushes and toothpaste •Tinned goods (not beans, tuna or tinned tomatoes) •Pasta and curry sauces •Baby wipes •Laundry products/washing up liquid •Cooking sauces (jars/sachets)• Custard •Puddings (Packet or tinned) •Milk and juice (UHT) •Breakfast spreads •Biscuits and snack bars •Teabags and coffee •Cat and dog food

• Whole School - Photos - Pupils' individual/sibling proofs will be sent home with your child this week. The deadline date for ordering and delivery to school is Friday 23rd October. After this date, parents will be charged postage for their orders.

• Whole School - Public Notice Consultation - Following approval to move to the public notice consultation on 9th September at the Executive Lead Member for Children’s Services Decision Day, please find below a copy of the public notice to establish an Inclusion Base (Specialist) (new terminology from the DfE replacing the term Resourced Provision): https://www.castlehillprimary.net/news/2026-09-23-chps-public-notice-consultation. • Whole School - Communication Policy - Can we please ask that all parents read our Communication Policy. The aim of this policy is to promote clear and open communication by explaining:

  • 1.  how the school communicates with parents/carers

    2. setting clear standards and expectations for responding to communication from parents/carers

    3. setting expectations for parents when visiting our school or communicating with staff at our school

    4. helping parents/carers reach the member of school staff who is best placed to address their specific query or concern so they can get a response as quickly as possible

• Whole School - Poppy Appeal - The Royal British Legion have delivered boxes of Poppy Appeal merchandise to both schools. These will be available for the children to buy from tomorrow morning. Please see the poster below for suggested donations.

• Whole School - Consent for Vaccinations - All children are eligible for the Annual Flu Vaccination Programme which will be administered on Tuesday 17th November at both sites. An online consent form is required for completion by all parents ahead of the school vaccination session (whether you decide to opt in or opt out). Deadline is 9:00am Friday 13th November. Please complete this consent form via the link ensuring you select the correct 'school code' for the site your child attends (see below) - https://www.hiowhealthcareimmunisations.co.uk/Forms/Flu or scan the QR code on the posters below. School cannot complete the form on anyone's behalf and if you have more than 1 child attending the school, a consent form will need to be completed per child. • Walktober 2026! - As we head into autumn, HCC is inviting schools to take part in Walktober 2026 as part of International Walk to School Month. Walktober encourages pupils, families and staff to choose active and sustainable travel throughout October. We hope as many pupils, families, and staff as possible will take part by walking, wheeling, cycling, scooting, using Park and Stride, or travelling by public transport for journeys to and from school, work, and other journeys too. • Christmas Hampers and October Half Term Support - We know that school holidays can bring extra pressure, and we want to ensure support reaches those who need it most. Thanks to local support from Basingstoke Foodbank, we can make referrals for food hampers for the October half-term and Christmas holidays. Because these hampers are made possible through donations, supplies are limited and intended specifically for families facing genuine hardship. The club runs on Tuesdays from 3:15pm to 4:15pm and gives children the opportunity to develop their gymnastics skills, strength, coordination and confidence, while having plenty of fun along the way.
